Christie Amurgis, M.A., CCC-SLP
Director / Speech-Language Pathologist
Christie is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Florida in 2002. Christie has a master level degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology degree from West Virginia University and went on to pursue her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee. Christie has experience working in many settings including the public school system, hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation centers, child hearing services, behavioral learning and speech therapy center for autism, as well as, private practice and home healthcare. Her love of children brought her into the pediatric arena. As owner and director of Sunshine SPOT, she is excited to be an integral piece of such an amazing and committed group of therapists and families. Throughout her career, Christie has worked with a variety of children with a wide range of diagnoses and disabilities. She is also certified as an Infant-Toddler Developmental Specialist focusing on early intervention services for children ages birth to three. Outside of work, Christie is busy raising her three children and spending time with her husband.
Kalin Mezey, CF-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow
Kalin is originally from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and moved to the Tampa area in 2021. She pursued her degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders and her degree in Business at Penn State University. She went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Gannon University. Kalin has gained experience in a variety of settings including Pediatric Hospitals and Neurological Rehabilitation Facilities. She has a passion for working with feeding and swallowing disorders and augmentative and alternative communication devices. In her free time Kalin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, paddle boarding or relaxing on the beach, and visiting local coffee shops!
Gabriela Adamus, SLPA
Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant
Gabriela has a double degree in Speech Therapy and Child Development & Family Relations from the University of Maine, as well as a degree in Elementary Education. Originally from Long Island, NY, she relocated to Tampa in 2023 to continue her passion for working with children and families. Gabriela has extensive experience supporting individuals from K-12 in both school settings and pediatric medical clinics. She has worked with a diverse range of clients, including children with minimal to severe disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, speech and language delays, and other developmental disabilities. Outside of work, Gabriela enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and comedy shows, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her dog Zeus!
Ever Gray, SLPA
Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant
Ever moved to Florida from Colorado to get a Masters degree in speech language pathology at Gannon University. She will graduate with her masters in August 2025. She holds a Bachelor degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing sciences and completed coursework for her SLPA license from the University of Colorado Boulder. She also holds a minor in TESOL and a certificate in public health. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Junie B. Jones, making jewelry, and being in nature.
